This is a demonstration of computing persistent homology of a 2D point pattern through growing balls. Choose between Čech and Vietoris-Rips filtrations, grow the scale parameter r, and watch the corresponding persistence diagram update on the right.

Computational note: Čech and Vietoris-Rips have the same edge birth time in this radius convention, but differ for triangles. Čech uses the smallest ball radius for a true triple intersection, while Vietoris-Rips fills a triangle once all three pairwise overlaps exist.
