As a STEM researcher, I was invited to take part in a Speed Meet session with Year 11 students from across Australia, many of whom were about to enter their final year of school. Over the course of an hour, I moved between small groups to introduce my work, share parts of my academic and career journey, and respond to students’ questions about university life, research, and the experience of undertaking a PhD.
